I help organizations turn emerging technology, market signals and data into funded decisions through bridging foresight & innovation execution — and increasingly, I build the AI tools that accelerate this process. Today I run Saurin Jani Consulting, an independent strategy practice in Vienna advising organizations on foresight, market intelligence and innovation.

Over 10+ years at international groups, I've delivered at the intersection of foresight, market intelligence, strategy and innovation. I pair strategic advisory — trend radars, roadmaps, scenario planning, competitor and M&A intelligence, innovation governance — with hands-on technical fluency: I design, build and ship agentic AI workflows myself (Claude Code/Codex, Cursor, n8n — portable to enterprise and locally hosted AI environments), then drive adoption through coaching, onboarding and reusable playbooks.

Qualitative depth interviews across USA, Germany and China → universal job map → 500+ desired-outcome statements → quantitative study (n=501) scoring importance vs. satisfaction → an opportunity landscape that pinpointed underserved customer outcomes and steered the category roadmap.

The Research Behind an Acquisition

A single insight initiated the group's first-ever M&A deal

Market-entry intelligence for an emerging health-tech segment: 90+ competitor apps analyzed, 20+ trend reports synthesized, expert interviews, funding-landscape mapping and top-down TAM/SAM/SOM sizing — then build-vs-buy-vs-partner evaluation. The researched insight became the first M&A transaction in company history.

78 patent families in, zero infringements out

In-house freedom-to-operate studies and patent landscaping: CPC-code search strategies screening 78 patent families down to 4 of concern — launch cleared with zero infringements. Landscape analytics revealed category white space and the shift toward sensor-based smart devices. ~€40k in external counsel fees avoided.

Metrics a €100M+ organisation steers by

Designed and streamlined the R&D KPI architecture for an international group: rationalized legacy indicators into a focused, bonus-relevant system — new-product sales ratio, launch-on-time, complaint ratio, quarterly project-goal achievement — automated the calculation logic and reported to leadership, linked to org-wide OKRs. (Dashboard shows synthetic values.)

Innovation Operating System

From ad-hoc to governed pipeline

Diagnosed a broken innovation front-end through stakeholder interviews; redesigned it into four pillars — corporate foresight, innovation strategy, agile search-field exploration, organizational support. Formalized multi-country RACI, product-brief and project-order standards, rolled out OKRs, and ran structured use-case evaluation for a €50k external technology partnership.
